Solider On: Development Part 1

I’ve been curious for many years about mobile application development and within the last month started to venture down this path with Flearn, as I’m developing a mobile application for my studying solution.

With this being said, since I have tied android studio with github copilot, I decided why not be creative and see else I can do. This has led to my Zombie killer mobile application game. I am going to try and document as much as possible of the game development in here.

Why? Well I’m surprised at how much fun its actually turning out to spend 30 minutes per night building out this game. I’m also enjoying the fun of playing the game.

So what is Soldier On?

This is a top down game, where you control a soldier who has a mariad of different guns designed to kill different types of zombies. The zombies come in from the top of the screen and move towards your soldier. Prior to the level beginning, there is the option to also drop obstacles into the level to help slow down the Zombies, in the hopes that the entire horde doesn’t reach you in a single go.

As levels progress, you obviously get more advanced guns, increased difficulty regarding zombies, new maps, different obstacles, and less obstacles, to make this an entirely fun and entertaining game.
